Nokian Nordman SX3 195/65 R15 91H

On the eve of the summer season 2022, Finnish tyre manufacturers from Nokian rolled out a new Nordman SX3 passenger car tyre. It is based on the innovative solutions of the Hakka premium line, but at the same time it is accessible to a wide audience of car owners.

Asymmetrical design

The tyre tread is made in the popular asymmetric design. The central link of the tread pattern is formed from a trio of longitudinal stiffening ribs with diamond-shaped blocks of different sizes. They are cut by Blade Grooves, which widen out to the inner open shoulder. The grooves effectively capture water and redirect it to the longitudinal hydroevacuation channels.

Technological methods

The blocks in the outer "shoulders" of the tyre are interconnected by solid jumpers, which acts as a guarantor of the car's stability when cornering. The uneven pitch of the blocks, coupled with the semi-circular grooves Silent Groove Design on the longitudinal ribs, ensures that the tyre is quiet when rolling. The effectiveness of the removal of water masses from the contact patch of the tyre with the roadway is increased by internal "shoulders" with open channels, made using Coanda technology.

Driving performance

The Nokian Nordman SX3 captivates with stable grip on dry and wet roads, performs well on bad roads, and is famous for its increased resistance to side impacts and cuts due to the rigid sidewalls. On the central rib of the tyre, digital indicators of the residual tread height in millimetres are visible. Signals about the need to replace the tyre with a new one are the last “three” in the number row and the droplet symbol, implying the “wet” grip properties of the tyre.
