Additional features mobile phone Nokia 6301:
  • support for UMA technology (Unlicensed Mobile Access)
Short description:

Nokia 6301 is a classic monoblock. In fact, the phone is a clone of the previous model Nokia 6300 with some additional features. In particular, UMA technology is supported, which allows using both Wi-Fi, and GSM and UMTS for calls.

Technical features:
  • The Nokia 6301 phone is made in the classic, most traditional form factor for the company. The design of the phone might seem too simple, but it is this kind of ergonomics that is truly versatile. Models similar in appearance have existed before and will certainly be in the future. Not a single superfluous element, everything is strictly and functionally. The case is made of plastic with discreet metal elements.
  • Compared to the 6300 model, the phone has undergone minor changes. The weight of the phone has increased by two grams (obviously, due to the UMA module), and its thickness has also increased - from 11.7 mm in the 6300 to 13.1 mm in the 6301. Outwardly, this is almost imperceptible.
  • The most interesting improvement is the support of UMA (Unlicensed Mobile Access) technology. It allows you to use both conventional mobile networks and Wi-Fi access points for a conversation. When you leave the Wi-Fi zone, the phone automatically and almost imperceptibly switches to regular GSM or UMTS. It is noteworthy and not very pleasant that the Wi-Fi of the phone can only be used for telephone conversations.
  • The display has not changed in comparison with the 6300 model. This is the same 2-inch TFT LCD with a resolution of 240x320 pixels. Displays up to 16 million shades of colours. It is worth remembering that Samsung phone displays are traditionally considered the best.
  • The volume of permanent memory of the phone has also changed. If in Nokia 6300 only 7.8 MB is available to the user, then in 6301 – `whole` thirty. Also, in fact, not much, but Nokia 6301 allows you to use more capacious microSD-cards up to 4 GB. This is quite enough for photos, and for music and video. Unless, of course, approach the issue without excessive fanaticism.
  • The camera used is the same - 2 megapixels, the maximum resolution of images is 1600x1200 pixels. Rare people can use the zoom up to 8x. Video is shot in H.263 format with a resolution of 176x144 pixels and a speed of up to 15 fps with moderate quality.
  • The Nokia 6301 media player is capable of playing both music and video files. These are AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, MIDI, MP3 and 3GPP, H.263, H.264, MPEG-4 respectively. There is also a simple FM radio.
  • The operating time of the phone from a single charge has somewhat decreased in comparison with the 6300 model. If Nokia 6300 can work up to 350 hours in standby mode, then Nokia 6301 – 300 hours (according to some sources, 250 in total). This is largely due to the additional load due to the use of UMA technology.
