Short description:
Like many Nokia models, this phone looks as simple as a good brick. And just as reliable. Indeed, the phone's consistently high ratings speak for themselves. Initially, Nokia 6300 was positioned as a functional phone for the middle class - it has an excellent TFT screen, a 2 megapixel camera, an MP3 player and many other useful things.
Specifications:
  • In appearance, the phone as a whole corresponds to the general design concept of Nokia - strict, regular forms with a bias towards a certain `squareness', which favorably distinguishes the 6300 from the futuristic design of modern gadgets. It is also important that the front panel and the battery cover are made of stainless steel. This not only increases the resistance of the phone to external influences, but also just looks good.
  • Naturally, the Nokia 6300 uses a 2-inch colour TFT display with a resolution of 240x320 (so-called QVGA). In bright sunlight, the screen fades somewhat, but such a disease is not a disease at all at the present stage of technological development. The display capabilities are enough to work in any conditions, in addition, it is capable of displaying 16+ million shades of colours.
  • The phone's memory is quite standard, 8 MB. This is clearly not enough to fully use an MP3 player, but this is not a problem - a couple of gigabytes of memory can be added by purchasing a good microSD card. It is also useful for storing photos, and software applications, etc.
  • Both voice dialing and voice control of phone functions are supported. Thus, you can negotiate for hours with different interlocutors without touching the phone and your finger.
Media:
  • The phone's MP3 player is practically flawless. The sound is rated by the owners for a solid `five-minus` (a full-fledged `five` can only be given by an exclusive tube for a couple of thousand euros).
  • For those who wish, there is an FM radio and a voice recorder. The sound quality is quite high (see MP3 player).
Camera:
  • Nokia 6300 is equipped with a 2 megapixel camera (1600x1200). For snapshots that just need to be taken immediately, this is quite enough. For other things - excellent cameras for 8-12 Mpx are sold.
  • In keeping with Nokia tradition, the phone supports quite reasonable digital ZOOM.
Internet:
  • There is everything for fans of GPRS. So far, 3G cannot be found in our area during the day, but GPRS works and works well. In addition, EDGE is supported - data transfer up to 100 Kbps is theoretically possible, but this depends primarily on the properties of the network.
  • In addition to the ability to connect to a PC, there is a WAP-browser and an e-mail client - a basic package for working on the Web.
Battery:
  • The Nokia 6300 uses a lithium-ion battery (760 mAh). Theoretically, its capacity is enough for 3.5 hours of talk time or 350 hours of standby time. Battery life is a very subjective matter and is evaluated differently by different users. One thing is clear - with proper use Nokia 6300 will last exactly until the moment when a new model appears that can attract your attention.
