A saw that cuts quickly, cleanly and quietly

The Makita UC3041A saw cuts quickly and cleanly. The cut is thin and even, and the amount of sawdust and waste is minimal. Therefore, it is often bought for work that requires precision and accuracy. But note that a short bus imposes some restrictions on the possibility of using this tool. For example, thick logs and large-section bars have to be cut in two or three steps.

Advantages and disadvantages

This saw has a strong reputation as an "indestructible" model. She has a reliable engine and a strong gearbox with metal gears. Thanks to the popularity of Makita tools and the availability of spare parts and consumables (sprockets, chains and tyres), maintaining and repairing the saw is a breeze. Chain tensioning and blade replacement can be done without the use of wrenches.

The saw is relatively quiet (by the standards of this type of tool), and you can even cut wood indoors without fear of deafening. But it is still worth remembering that even 101 dB (this is the level of noise the device creates during operation) is the volume at which it is recommended to use protective headphones. The disadvantages of the saw include high oil consumption (a full tank is enough for about 100 – 150 cross cuts on 20 cm logs). However, oil is cheap, and its consumption can be adjusted (for this, a screw is provided at the bottom of the case). But the level of lubricant in the tank must be constantly monitored so as not to spoil the chain.

Power saw for carpenter

It is hardly advisable to buy an electric saw costing under $200 for home and summer cottages. Makita UC3041A is more of a carpentry tool. It is not particularly suitable for felling trees, but it is great for construction tasks. It is advisable to use it at construction sites for precise cutting of logs, beams and boards into parts for building houses, truss systems or wooden frames.
