Saws: types, purpose and selection tipsA brief overview of different types of saws and sawing machines with tips on choosing the right tools
Model overview based on user reviews
The Makita HS7100 is a lightweight, compact, and powerful circular saw, praised for its quick and clean cutting capabilities. It features a strong attachment to the sole, free of play, and includes adjustment screws for precise 90° and 45° cuts, as well as for adjusting the parallelism of the sole and the disc, making it a professional tool. However, some users have reported issues, such as a breakdown during initial use, which was attributed to improper usage, and the need for an expensive adapter to connect to the guide bar. Despite these concerns, the saw is generally well-regarded for its performance, though potential buyers should be aware of the possibility of factory defects.

6 December 2016
Bought Makita HS7100 on December 1, 2016, as a replacement for Bosch PKS55. Building a shed on my property. On December 2, I was sawing across a beam 100*50. It broke down during the first hour of work. Warranty was denied due to improper usage)))) Used Bosch for four years. Sawed everything: cladding, furniture board, beams (200*50 both along and across), cement-bonded particle board (CBPB), oriented strand board (OSB), tree trunks, pallets with nails. Served its time.
No.

Cool thing.

I bought this saw a month ago while I was working on finishing a sauna. Very pleased! Cool stuff. Here someone wrote that of the three saws, none of them have a 90* angle, so before you write anything, at least open the instructions and don’t mislead people! Everything is adjusted perfectly using the adjusting screws. They wrote about a breakdown when sawing 100*50 timber, it’s funny to comment on such nonsense! More than one such beam has been loosened along its length... Obviously there is a factory defect.
Lightweight, compact and powerful saw. Cuts quickly and cleanly. The attachment of the saw to the sole is strong and free of play. There are adjustment screws for 90* and 45*, and there is also a screw for adjusting the parallelism of the sole and the disc. Professional tool.
To connect to the guide bar you need an expensive adapter.
