Lensbaby Circular Fisheye

Lensbaby products are not taken seriously by many - its creations are more like toys than serious lenses. But that's not the case at all.

Circle

One of the first lenses that tried to break this stereotype was the widest angle fisheye Lensbaby 5.8mm f/3.5 Circular Fisheye. As the name of the model suggests, it can draw a full circle. The viewing angle of the lens is 185°, i.e. it will turn out to consider even what is a little behind the front lens. The circle is obtained not only in conjunction with full-frame cameras (Canon, Nikon and Sony DSLRs), but also in conjunction with cropped cameras (Nikon, Canon, Sony and Pentax DSLRs, as well as Sony, Olympus, Panasonic, Fujifilm and Samsung mirrorless cameras).

Focusing

All elements of the lens are enclosed in a high-quality metal case and do not protrude beyond its limits during focusing. You will have to focus exclusively manually - there was no place in the body for the autofocus system. The minimum focusing distance is only 6.35 mm - subjects can practically touch the front lens. The diaphragm is also manually controlled, for which a separate ring with a responsive stroke is placed on the body.

Picture

The lens is very sharp in the center of the frame from the widest aperture (f / 3.5). Sharpness around the edges can be neglected - they are still hidden from the eyes, as they are outside the circle. By the way, the inner part of the lens body is deliberately polished to achieve spectacular reflections and glare in photographs.

All-seeing

It is difficult to imagine daily options for using the all-seeing fisheye. It opens up a completely different look at the usual things than a couple with a democratic cost and attracts many fans.
