JBL products — one of the main experts in the field of audio technology — have received accolades from owners for more than half a century. The JBL Pulse 2 Bluetooth speaker was no exception.

The main feature of the wireless gadget is the ability to see the sound — there are LEDs around the perimeter of the speaker that shimmer and change colour while playing music. It also allows you to use the device as a night light or lamp in a small room. A couple of interesting features related to backlighting are also available in a proprietary application installed on a smartphone. For example, the LEDs can be set to fire or rain mode, and in parallel with the light and music, the speaker will emit the corresponding sounds. Finally, it is worth noting the presence of an optical sensor on the side of the audio device — it scans the colours of surrounding objects and lights the LEDs in the appropriate range.

In terms of sound JBL Pulse 2 also does not graze the rear. The column has in its arsenal two speakers with a total power of 16 W and two passive bass amplifiers, thanks to which it produces high-quality sound with deep low frequencies. For those who like to talk on the phone through the speakerphone, a speakerphone function is provided.

"Chips"

Another "feature" of acoustics is dust and water protection. You don’t need to submerge it under water, but leaving it to work in the rain when out for a barbecue in bad weather is no problem. Also , the column can be synchronized via a Bluetooth connection with its own kind. When paired, lighting effects are duplicated and you can choose one of two operating modes: stereo or party (simultaneous broadcast of music in different rooms).

Offline work

A capacious 6000 mAh battery allows you to completely forget about charging portable acoustics — it can play up to 10 hours of music on one battery tank. Perhaps the only drawback of the gadget is just related to the charging process — it consists in a tight plug for access to the microUSB connector. The rest of the column deserves only commendable reviews.
