Automating the cleaning process in the apartment is not so difficult — for this you need to get a robot vacuum cleaner. The products of the American brand iRobot are very popular with the public. But if you can't afford the flagship iRobot Roomba 980, you can look at its closest relative — a vacuum cleaner with the 960 number in the model name.

Automation

The device independently draws a virtual map of the premises based on data collected from visual positioning cameras and numerous sensors on board. Sensors are able to determine the degree of pollution in the current place of cleaning, obstacles along the way and help to respond to changes in height. Separately from the vacuum cleaner, a beacon is installed to create a virtual wall — it creates an invisible line that the "smart cleaner" does not cross.

Quality cleaning

The vacuum cleaner has a less powerful fan than the older model. Another difference from the iRobot Roomba 980 lies in the battery capacity cut down by one and a half times, which, in turn, affects the time of the robot's continuous trips around the perimeter of the room. However, in terms of cleaning quality, the model does not fundamentally differ from the flagship vacuum cleaner, confidently coping with dust and small debris both in open areas and in hard-to-reach places. For example, in the corners of the room, small particles of debris are captured by the side brush.

Remote control

By connecting via Wi-Fi, you can control the operating mode of the robot vacuum cleaner directly from your smartphone. The My Roomba application builds a device occupation calendar and selects one of two cleaning scenarios: automatic cleaning of the entire available area and Spot mode — intensive cleaning of a small area (about 1 m in diameter). In the latter case, the vacuum cleaner is carried to the desired location by the user. Unfortunately, manual control support for the “cleaner” was not delivered, although with subsequent firmware updates, the appearance of this feature becomes quite real.
