HTC EVO 4G is a universal communicator based on Google Android OS. It has a wide range of features, including almost everything you can expect from a modern smartphone. Designed for use in 3G, 4G (WiMAX) and CDMA bands, does not support the GSM standard.

Communicator is made in monoblock form factor. Material — plastic. Almost the entire front panel is occupied by a touch screen. Its large dimensions are due to the dimensions of the device, it may seem cumbersome to some. There is no numeric keypad. There are only four control keys on the front panel — "Home", "Menu", "Back" and "Search", they are touch-sensitive. There are no hardware answer and end keys, their functions are implemented through the touch screen.

On the right side of the phone are the volume buttons. The back cover is made of soft-touch plastic, which prevents slipping. There is a built-in camera with dual LED flash, an external speaker and a fold-out stand.

The phone's 4.3" capacitive touchscreen display is the largest screen of its kind for mobile devices at the time of release. It is made using AMOLED technology, which provides high quality colour reproduction, wide viewing angles and good visibility even in bright sunlight. Almost perfect for viewing video, in addition, due to the size of the display, the on-screen keyboard is especially convenient to use, it even has cursor keys.

There is an ambient light sensor that adjusts the brightness of the screen. Also available is a proximity sensor, accelerometer and geomagnetic sensor (compass).

The Android operating system uses the friendly and intuitive HTC Sense user interface, and powerful hardware ensures fast and stable operation of both the system itself and resource-intensive applications.

Of the features of data transmission: the Wi-Fi module has the option of operating in the "hot spot" mode. At the same time, the device turns into an access point for other Wi-Fi devices (up to 8 in total), which, taking into account WiMAX support, seems to be a very useful option.

For the first time in HTC's history, the EVO 4G features an 8MP camera with autofocus and dual-LED flash. In addition to photos, it allows you to shoot high-definition video (up to 720p), and the presence of an HDMI output turns the device into a full-fledged external player for a modern TV. This connection requires a special adapter (not included). There is a front camera for video calls.

The communicator is equipped with a 1500 mAh lithium-ion battery.
