Videos 13Photos 6 | Outdated Product $54.99 An impressive set of two single-rank modules of high-speed RAM (2x8 GB), which is capable of stable operation with an effective clock frequency of 3600 MHz. It can provide impressively high bandwidth (28.8 Gbps), which will be enough for any games and resource-intensive professional applications. A special feature of this set is the use of universal controlled RGB LED backlighting, which is compatible with Asus Aura Sync, MSI Mystic Light, Gigabyte RGB Fusion and ASRock Polychrome Sync technologies. The manufacturer positions it as a product aimed at modding enthusiasts, demanding gamers and enthusiasts. It is intended for installation in gaming and demonstration systems. A set of G.Skill Trident Z Neo DDR4 2x8Gb RAM modules is perfect for creating stylish and bright exhibition copies of g...aming PCs. For quick activation of the declared performance mode (3600 MHz in dual-channel mode with timings CL16-19-19-39 at 1.35 V), a motherboard with support for Intel XMP 2.0 technology is required. Otherwise, when installed, the modules start in safe mode (2133 MHz with timings 17-17-17 at 1.2 V), and the declared parameters (frequency, timings and voltages) will need to be configured manually in the corresponding BIOS section. |

Three secrets of success
Trident RAM, which is produced by the Taiwanese from G.Skill, has won its place in the top 10 most popular overclocker RAM in the last couple of years. And they really had to try for this, because you can’t surprise anyone with a simple fast DDR4 bar these days. In fact, the success of Trident memory is based on three pillars - selected memory chips, adequate pricing and a strong emphasis on appearance. For example, this is almost the only RAM on the market with a design in the style of jewelry.
Unconventional design
As for our Trident Z Neo test sample, it looks stylish, but not too flashy. The metal heatsink is visually divided into two halves - one is painted gray, the other is black. At the top, the heatsink is united by an asymmetrical ridge, which is pierced by a wide strip with LEDs. The main task of the designers was to make the RAM look nice in a case with an open stand, and the design of the heatsink did not draw attention from the spectacular RGB backlight.
Speeds up to 4200 MHz
Now about the memory itself. We received a set of two 8 GB strips with CL16 latency for testing. Operating frequencies are around 3600 MHz, by the standards of the end of 2021, this is, one might say, the optimal overclocker memory, which immediately starts up at high speed, but at the same time leaves the user room to maneuver. As tests have shown, G. Skillz products are respected by overclocking fans for good reason. With increasing timings to 17-18-18-39, as well as increasing the input voltage, the kit took a frequency of 4200 MHz. Moreover, this result was repeated on the AMD platform, for which this memory is optimized, and on a test PC with a motherboard and an Intel processor.
