Slim and variable in control
The robot belongs to the junior solutions of the Chinese brand ECOVACS and is positioned as a low-profile model for daily cleaning. The body height of 57 mm allows it to reach dirt under beds, sofas and other furniture with low legs. The vacuum cleaner has a rectangular shape with rounded edges and a single button responsible for turning on and off.
ECOVACS DeeBot Slim 2 is equipped with a remote control and is also equipped with a Wi-Fi module for remote control. The Ecovacs Home application not only duplicates the main features of the remote control, but also collects cleaning statistics, informs about the current battery charge level, and offers flexible cleaning schedule settings by day and time. And when integrated into a smart home system, it is possible to interact with the robot through Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa voice assistants.
Three modes
The vacuum cleaner has three operating modes. In automatic mode, it plots routes by itself and is ready, according to the manufacturer, to carry out cleaning on an area of up to 80 square metres. To maintain cleanliness in such a room, a dust container capacity of 320 mL should be enough. In the Edge mode, the robot moves along the perimeter and collects dirt along the baseboards and in the corners, and in the Spot mode, it thoroughly cleans the area within a radius of a metre from its current position, moving along a spiral path. Plus, manual correction of the route is also possible from the remote control or in the application.
The filtration system of the robot includes a HEPA filter designed to trap the smallest dust particles and allergens in the dust collector. Thanks to the included ECOVACS microfibre, DeeBot Slim 2 is able to refresh floors after collecting dust and other debris. However the user will have to wet and clean the nozzle himself.
Maximum independence and battery life
From the built-in accumulator the vacuum cleaner works till 110 minutes. Until the battery is completely discharged, he himself goes in search of a complete charging station, where the battery is recharged for 4 hours. This is plus or minus the average for modern robots.
The vacuum cleaner recognizes obstacles and goes around them, has a fall sensor. Also, the model will call on protrusions up to 1 cm high (or 0.8 cm with microfibre), which will allow it to overcome small sills and “climb” onto carpets with a small pile. But you should not count on effective cleaning of medium and long pile carpets. But with smooth surfaces, including the collection of pet hair, the robot handles very confidently.
