This is my first stabilizer, and I'm very happy with it since not too long ago, such devices were too expensive for hobbyists like me. It's hefty, and when a phone is attached, you could even say it's heavy. But my arm quickly got used to the weight. The stabilizer has several control buttons. There's an on/off button, a joystick for moving right/left and up/down. On the back of the handle, there's a lever for selecting a specific object, and on the left side, a button for zooming in and out. Additionally, it comes with a stable tripod that holds the stabilizer and phone firmly in place. The video quality is simply superb; I recorded while driving on rough terrain and walking briskly. There's absolutely nothing to complain about, with no shake at all. The tripod is stable and holds the stabilizer with the phone well. The video quality is great when driving off-road and during fast walking. There's no shaking in the video. It's heavy, and with the phone in it it's heavy. |
Osmo: version 3.0
The rapid development of cameras in smartphones has led to the fact that everyone can now become a vlogger, start their own YouTube channel or broadcast video. Accordingly, there was also a demand for hand-held stabilizers that prevent the picture from shaking and swimming due to shaking in the hands. The second version of the DJI Osmo Mobile mobile steadicam was almost an perfect product. And even more pleased that the company did not rest on its laurels, but greatly improved an already excellent device by releasing Osmo Mobile 3.
Cool stabilizer just got even cooler
The main news is that steadicam is now stacking! It was already small, but now it has become even easier to carry it with you. When folded, it easily hides in a small pocket of a backpack. A power bank function has been added, that is, Osmo Mobile 3, in which case, can recharge a dead smartphone. Ergonomics has also improved, now the case does not block the phone connection ports, and the steadicam itself is balanced easier and faster. A new trigger button has appeared on the case for quick switching between cameras, turning on the sports mode and fixing the steadicam. Plus, Osmo Mobile now understands gestures and can go into standby mode with a connected smartphone. That is, the smartphone does not have to be removed from the mount to edit the video or view the footage.
Full support for ActiveTrack 3.0
Further more. Osmo Mobile 3 can quickly switch between portrait and landscape modes without having to rebalance the device. Plus, a new version of the ActiveTrack 3.0 object tracking mode has got here. It works very fast, very smoothly and as accurately as possible. And if earlier it was necessary to choose the tracking object on your own, then in the new version, automation is responsible for this: it recognizes human faces and keeps them in the centre of the frame. Also, the novelty has learned to shoot Hyperlapse with additional electronic stabilization. However the panorama is now only 180 °, and not 360 ° as before.
We are waiting for an update
The main and almost the only drawback of the novelty lies in the differences in the DJI Mimo mobile application. The Android version lacks SlowMotion, and shooting in 4K is possible only at 30 fps, on iOS you can shoot at 60 fps, but only on the main camera. We hope this will be fixed in future updates.
