Small filigree saw

Compared to other DeWALT reciprocating saws, the DCS310D2 looks like a child's toy. But this is a very misleading impression. Despite its very compact dimensions, low weight (only 1.4 kg) and low power, it is a professional saw with decent performance. It’s just that this saw is not designed for rough cutting and dismantling, like larger and more powerful models, but for neat, almost filigree work: trimming thin pipes at the installation site, fitting laminate boards, etc.

But the "Dewalt" approach to instrument design is felt even in such a baby. It has a fully metal (and therefore very reliable and durable) gearbox, LED illumination of the working area and soft start due to electronic speed control (speed is controlled by changing the force with which the finger presses on the start button).

Saw-transformer

The saw has an interesting feature — the original form factor. The body of the saw "breaks" in the middle, like a hunting rifle, allowing you to change the relative position of its two parts. The handle can be set at 90º, 135º and 180º to the saw blade. This design allows you to change the configuration for a grip with one or two hands and choose the most advantageous working position. In the fully “unfolded” state, the length of the tool is only 370 mm, and in the “folded” state, it is almost half as much.

Form factor overhead

The low-power motor (140 W output) consumes little energy (the saw is powered by 2 Ah batteries, of which there are two in the tool case) and runs quietly. But this medal also has a downside — a small travel of the canvas (only 14 mm). This means that, despite a decent operating frequency, the saw will not impress with special performance, and the saw blades will wear out in the same place, closer to the sole.
