Practicality above all else
Often in their laptops, Dell strives for maximum practicality and performance, and sends design issues to secondary roles. The new Dell Inspiron 13 5379 transformer was no exception, offering a powerful filling, but not the prettiest appearance.
SSD with a lot of memory
The laptop is equipped with an 8th generation Intel Core i5 processor with four cores operating at frequencies of 1.6 – 3.4 GHz. In conjunction with the processor, an Intel HD Graphics 620 video core, a 1000 GB HDD drive and 8 GB of DDR4 memory are installed. The overall performance of the model is at a fairly high level and is more than sufficient for work, entertainment and light games. If it is still not enough, then in addition to the current 8 GB of RAM, you can add another bar — fortunately, an additional slot is provided for it.
Despite the fact that the model is far from the cheapest, there is no metal or valuable grades of plastic here. Everything is plastic, practical and boring — such a design is unlikely to appeal to those who want to show off a new gadget to their friends.
Full HD touch screen
The laptop has a 13.3-inch IPS touch screen (resolution 1920x1080). The matrix has a good contrast ratio, about 855:1, but the brightness is not the highest — about 270 cd/m2. Response time — more than 30 ms. A lot, but for a non-gaming laptop it will do.
The periphery of the laptop also hints at its versatility, albeit not for the sake of modernity. One USB 2.0, a pair of USB 3.1 and an HDMI port with a card reader. The fact that USB-C was not delivered is frankly surprising. Especially if you look at the price of this model.
Loud quality speakers
But there are no complaints about either a high-quality touchpad or a pair of loud and surprisingly bass speakers that flourish noticeably when using the proprietary Waves Maxx Audio application.
A 42 Wh battery will last for 5-6 hours of multimedia work, but less, and this will not be enough for a model created with maximum portability in mind.
