The Dell Inspiron 15 3583 is a pretty interesting option in the sub-$600 price range: it has a minimalist look, great hardware for the price, and boasts one of the thinnest chassis in its class.

Classic shape

There is nothing outstanding or unusual in the design of the model — this is a classic laptop, with old-school thick frames around the screen. Nevertheless, it is pleasant to look at, well built and has a compact and thin body of 20 mm. This is one of the thinnest laptops in its class. In terms of positioning, what is more important is that the laptop is perfectly assembled: it does not have any backlash and creaks, and the lid and palm space sag only with noticeable effort. Although, this is a disease of almost all laptops with a plastic case.

15 inch FullHD screen

At the same time, the screen received not the best TN-matrix with Full HD resolution, which is more than enough for a diagonal of 15". But the brightness margin could be better — using a laptop in sunny weather is frankly inconvenient. In addition, traditionally for TN matrices, the screen does not have the widest viewing angles.

Optimal Processor

The laptop is equipped with an Intel Core i3 processor with two physical and four virtual cores. From a bird's eye view, this is not the most powerful gem, but in this price category, weaker Pentium and Celeron processors are much more common. And here is a relatively fresh chip from the Whiskey Lake family.

256 GB SSD

Plus, instead of 4 or 6 GB and a clumsy HDD, the Dell Inspiron 15 3583 has a full 8 GB and a 256 GB SSD, which is more than enough with a reasonable use of resources. But the LAN port here is not the fastest, with a limit of 100 Mbps, keep in mind if you plan to connect it to the network directly via cable.
