The height limit for CPU tower is 170mm. The Deepcool Matrexx 70 ADD-RGB 3F case received four standard fans out of seven possible out of the box. So, three 120-mm impellers with ARGB illumination are mounted on the front panel. Another 120 mm impeller is blown out from behind (this cooler is not backlit). But at the same time, there is additional illumination on the side of the compartment under the power supply. Deepcool Matrexx 70 is a stylish, massive and far from the cheapest computer case with addressable illumination, which is positioned by the manufacturer as a "new concept, specially designed for the pleasure of self-assembly." The layout of Deepcool Matrexx 70 pays homage to modern fashion, when 5.25 bays are sent to the scrap, and 3.5 trays are hidden under the cover of the power supply to free up more space inside. Thanks to this approach, inside Matrexx, the user can install a full-size E-ATX motherboard and a massive graphics card up to 380 mm long.
By comparison, most cases in this class are limited to standard ATX motherboards and graphics cards up to 360mm long. Even more convenient, the video adapter can be placed both horizontally and vertically. You can also install a processor cooler up to 170 mm high and a power supply unit up to 200 mm in size into the case. However in the latter case, the laying of wires will be difficult. As for the fun of self-assembly, it seems to be about the thumbscrews and additional racks for mounting.
Four regular fans of different types are pre-installed inside the case, which is not very convenient. The three main turntables are placed on the front panel and are equipped with addressable lighting, which creates the illusion of three luminous circles during operation. Additional illumination is hidden on one of the sides under the power supply. We have already seen this approach to illumination a thousand times, so the guys from Deepcool went to the trick, using additional glass inserts inside the case, which reflect the internal glow in an interesting way. Especially for the hardcore Scandinavian gamers, Deepcool has released a classic black version of the Matrexx 70 without backlight and at a more affordable price. Still, by the standards of Deepcool, this version turned out to be somewhat more expensive than expected.
