Bought for Ryzen 3300x and Zen 3. Accordingly, you need to choose carefully so as not to buy twice. Purchased for ryzen 5 3600. Stock thermal paste: idle - 40 degrees, stress test 80 degrees. Gelid gc-extreme thermal paste (after 2.5 years of storage): idle 33-40 degrees, stress test 78 degrees. Prolimatech PK-1 thermal paste: idle 33-40 degrees, stress test 80 degrees. The processor itself is hot and the cooler simply circulates cold air. Successor to the folk cooler GAMMAXX 400
Thanks to the good work of engineers, high quality control and a competent pricing policy, the Chinese manufacturer Deepcool has gradually conquered the cooling market, pushing such bison as Nictua, Zalman, Be Quet to the second role! and others. The design provides a more decent level of processor cooling with a maximum TDP of 180W, and the PWM fan speed control (500 – 1650 rpm) is relatively quiet and produces a noise level of less than 28 dB. This option is perfect for cooling an overclocked Ryzen 5 or Core i5 caliber processor without having to push it to the limit. For extreme overclocking, you still need something more powerful.
Time for improvements
Unlike the first version of the GAMMAXX 400, the updated model works with all current processor sockets (Intel LGA1700/1200/1151 and AMD AM4/AM3+), the fan has learned to work at lower speeds, which has reduced both the minimum and maximum noise levels (it was 30 dB became 28 dB). Of course, the backlight was added, where without it. However not addressable, and not even RGB, but plain plain. And the cooler itself cannot be said to have become prettier. As before, this is never a model for exhibition stands. Well, we have already talked about the maximum TDP of 180 W. For its predecessor, this figure was only 130 watts. At the same time, the price remained at the same level - most stores ask for 25 – 30 evergreens for it.
