With the Zensor series, Danish company DALI has ventured into the turbulent waters of affordable Hi-Fi. The attempt turned out to be more than successful, because of which a flattering characteristic is periodically found in Western reviews: “until I found out the price, I thought that speakers were playing for a thousand or two dollars.”

Acoustics that will make friends with any amplifier

The Zensor 1 bookshelf speakers are the smallest of the three Zensor speakers, but they all have one thing in common: a smooth, linear impedance that will make the speaker sound equally good with any amplifier. Well, do not forget about the branded Dali speakers, which the profile press praised in the company's more expensive acoustics.

The Zensor 1 features a 133mm low-frequency woofer, which is made from traditional DALI wood-fiber-reinforced cellulose material. All for the best combination of stiffness and lightness. The lightweight high-frequency tweeter is equipped with a vigorous drive that oscillates at high speed. According to the passport, the speakers reproduce the frequency range from 53 to 26500 Hz and boast a power reserve of 100 watts. Just right for the rear of the cinema.

“DALI have created amazingly realistic speakers for their price and size. We were blown away by how these little ones create such a voluminous sound, regardless of the genre, ”the Stereophile review says. They have a great sense of rhythm and timbre articulation. The sound signature is distinguished by lightness and refinement with a high-quality transmission of any dynamic changes.

The mids do not lose detail even in a very dense sound canvas, the “tops” are clean with a minimum of a metallic tint. However, the most memorable bass, which sometimes create a misleading impression of large floorstanders.
