The backpack from DAKINE belongs to models for winter sports. It includes attachments for skis and a snowboard.

Skis are recommended to be placed diagonally: two loops for them are located on both sides, top and bottom. The board, however, is carried vertically: secured with side compression straps. These also help to "tighten" the contents of the model, preventing shaking and unnecessary noise.

For Active Recreation

The DAKINE Heli Pack 12L is also suitable for other sports, as it includes a compartment for a hydration system and outlets for its tubes, gear loops, and a convenient fixation system with a waist belt and chest strap. Incidentally, a whistle is integrated into the latter.

The relatively small 12-liter capacity shouldn't be a problem for users. For instance, in the main compartment instead of the hydration system, a laptop with a 15-inch screen can be placed. Therefore, the backpack can be considered not only as sporting but also suitable for active recreation. The main compartment also has room for other items, including warm gloves, snacks, a water bottle, etc.

Additional Storage Systems

The backpack is additionally equipped with a compact front pocket for small items. Plus, in the absence of skis or a board, a removable shovel blade or other items can be placed in the front crab pocket. There's also an upper pocket with a fleece lining, ideal for carrying ski goggles or glasses. With such a variety, the lack of traditional side pockets is nothing more than a minor drawback.

The disadvantages of the DAKINE Heli Pack 12L include a relatively high cost. However, it has virtually no competitors among compact sports backpacks equipped with ski and/or snowboard attachments.
