MasterLiquid ML240R RGB is a slightly modified and improved version of Cooler Master's MasterLiquid Pro 240 water cooling system. It provides the same quality of processor cooling at high fan speeds, but it is equipped with addressable RGB lighting, which Cooler Master did not spare LEDs for: it looks impressive and synchronizes without problems with most complex solutions like ASUS Aura Sync, GIGABYTE RGB Fusion and MSI Mystic Light Sync. However the discontinued MasterLiquid Pro 240 had a five-year warranty, but here the warranty period is only 2 years.

Well proven design

Like most popular LSS systems, it consists of a pump and a radiator with fans connected by hoses. The system is primed and ready to use, which is why it is often referred to as a maintenance-free CBO. An aluminium radiator sized 277x119x27 is used as a heat exchanger. A pair of 120mm MasterFan fans with a smooth inner surface of the blades is responsible for blowing it, which, according to the engineers' idea, allows to increase airflow and reduce resistance. In fact, the air flow of 66.7 cubic feet per minute is not to say that it somehow staggers the imagination. But the claimed service life of the fans at 160,000 hours is really impressive.

Decent cooling quality and flexibility in operation

Given that we have a well-known cooling system in a new wrapper, we did not expect any surprises during the tests. And rightly so, the ML240R showed decent cooling performance and flexibility. On the one hand, on its basis, you can build an almost silent system with a performant six-core processor of past generations. In the test bench, there was a Core i7 6800K with a slight overclocking, which did not heat up more than 48 °C under load, and the sound level metre showed 24 dB. Or you can swing at something more powerful. Then the noise will appear, but not strong. The main thing is that the heat dissipation of the processor does not exceed 155 – 160 watts.
