The laser is easy to use, you just need to insert batteries and slide the lens cap. Bright vertical and horizontal lines are projected onto everything in front of the device. Self-centering works flawlessly, great for wallpapering and wall cladding. A bright cross is remarkably visible in normal lighting and much worse in bright light. The corners are rubberized to prevent slipping. The lens cap looks a bit flimsy, but overall it's good. The brackets that should hold the laser are not very strong and it is inconvenient to get to them. The other clamp mount holds the laser better with a standard tripod screw, but because it's made of plastic with plastic ball joints, it's very difficult to align accurately. The scale that is projected by the laser somehow doesn't make sense unless the device is perfectly aligned or the wall is not level.
