Quieter!
With the Silent Base 801 Window, the folks at Be quiet have done significant work on enhancements. Formally, it's just the second version of the Silent Base 800 case, but if you look "under the hood," you'll find that it's a completely new and unique model in every way. It looks stylish (especially in orange), has a thoughtfully designed layout, comes with three internal fans, and won't cause any issues during assembly thanks to its modular structure.
Everything Fits
For example, the modular motherboard tray allows you to choose between standard positioning and installation on the left panel of the case. The modular power supply cover frees up space for additional fans, and the abundance of mounting points for drives will help organize a capacious storage for your libraries. Overall, thanks to the vast amount of free space inside the case, you can fit virtually any combinations of hardware and cooling systems. Small details were also well-received: buttons for removing side panels, sound-absorbing material on some walls to reduce background noise, removable dust filters, a hub for six fans with connection to a controller, compartments for hidden cable routing, and a transparent side cover offering a view of the internal setup of the case.
Temperature Under Control
But not without its "fly in the ointment." On one hand, the spacious case and the presence of three fans keep the temperatures of all components far from critical levels even under stress tests. On the other hand, compared to silent cases of this level, the Silent Base 801 is quite a bit hotter. The main reason lies in the weak perforation of the front panel, which reduces the efficiency of the two fans installed there.
