Model overview based on user reviews
The Apacer AS2280P4U SSD series offers a compelling balance of price and speed, making it a noteworthy choice for consumers. Users have highlighted its performance, with one review noting that the writing speed exceeded expectations by 19-20%, suggesting a potentially lucky unit or high initial performance. The SSD is praised for its affordability, being cheaper than some competitors like the Samsung 970 EVO Plus, yet it still manages to deliver competitive read speeds. While not the cheapest option on the market, it stands out among branded SSDs for its value. The inclusion of a fastening screw is appreciated, although its size could be more convenient. Overall, the Apacer AS2280P4U series is recommended for those seeking a reliable and cost-effective SSD solution.
Pros
Cons
This SSD is comparable in price to the Kingston NV1 (EUR 43), but significantly outperforms it in speed and more. It is approximately EUR 25 cheaper than the Samsung 970 EVO Plus (EUR 71), but outpaces it by 9-10% in read speed while being slower in actual write speed (about 17-20% slower than the Samsung SSD. Up to 40% slower if you only consider the claimed specs). Whether it's worth paying the extra EUR 25 is up to you. I'm not informed about the component quality, but what I received satisfies me entirely. According to the stated specifications, it should be more durable than the aforementioned SSDs, but verifying this is quite challenging. I bought it for EUR 48. It is installed on a Gigabyte B660M GAMING X DDR4 motherboard. Does not match the stated specifications. The reading speed matches the claimed speed and is even 1-2% higher, but the writing speed is 19-20% higher than stated. Perhaps I got a lucky unit, or not enough time has passed for it to wear out slightly. Not found. |
Purchased and just installed. Not the cheapest 1TB SSD (excluding noname brands) available on the market. Ran it through CrystalDiskInfo, data in the footer. Price, speed, and their correlation. The presence of a fastening screw in the kit, but not too small, but just leave it on the spot, what you need to know here. |
