A racing stallion, not a workhorse

The Aspire line has always acted as simple and unassuming "workhorses", but in the seventh series the company has upgraded the filling, turning the Acer Aspire 7 A717-71G into a very performant laptop.

The design of the Aspire 7 easily recognizes the signature features of Acer. Metal and plastic are used as the main body materials. The upper part of the display unit and the base, on which the hands rest during operation, are made of aluminium. The rest of the body is plastic. The plastic is quite durable and high quality.

8th Gen Core i7

As mentioned above, the model shows excellent results in terms of performance. Inside it you can find a penultimate generation Intel Core i7 quad-core processor (frequency 2.8 – 3.8 GHz), a bunch of HDD and SSD drives, 8 GB of DDR4 RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 graphics card with 2 GB of video memory.

Such a complete set boldly handles with any work task and provides comfortable FPS indicators in modern toys. For example, in the rather demanding Far Cry 5, the laptop keeps a stable 35 – 40 frames per second at medium-high graphics settings and Full HD resolution.

Large high contrast display

The Aspire 7 A717-71G features a 17-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1920x1080. As befits an IPS-matrix, there are maximum viewing angles and more saturated and warm colours compared to TN-matrices. Although, with factory calibration, the gamma noticeably goes towards yellow, red and green shades. But this can not be called a disadvantage, rather a feature. But in unequivocal pluses it is worth writing down a good margin of brightness of 360 cd / m2, which provides high readability in bright light.

Up to 6 hours on a single charge

In terms of peripherals, the Acer Aspire 7 has everything you need: a couple of USB 2.0 ports, one USB 3.0, one USB-C and a card reader. The laptop is equipped with a 3220 mAh battery, which is relatively small considering the size of the case. When working with text and documents in "balanced" mode, the laptop can last up to 6 hours, at maximum brightness you should not wait more than 3 hours, and in the case of demanding games, the battery will last no longer than an hour.
