Not like everyone else

The iron of the Polish brand Zelmer knowingly received the prefix Xcompact in the title — it indicates the small size of the device. Unlike many competitors, the steam generator is rectangular in shape and resembles a platform on which the iron is mounted vertically rather than horizontally. Thus, the manufacturer managed to make the device more compact and convenient for storage. In addition, vertical “parking” will be more familiar to those users who have just begun to get acquainted with the steam generator and, in the old fashioned way, install the iron on the base, and not on the soleplate.

Powerful small

Zelmer also managed to combine compact dimensions and fairly high power in one model. The iron needs only two minutes to get ready for use, after which it can be used both for dry ironing and with steam. At the same time, the steam pressure is an impressive 8 bar, the power of constant steam supply is 150 g/min, and the steam boost is as much as 400 g/min. These are quite high figures, which mean that the device will effectively cope with dense fabrics and complex folds. You can also use vertical steaming and add water at any time without having to turn off the entire system. Although this is unlikely to come in handy — the model is equipped with a capacious water tank designed for 1.6 liters, and in most cases this volume is enough even for numerous things.

It is also worth noting a fairly simple and understandable control: the optimum temperature is set automatically, without the need to sort clothes and the risk of burning the fabric. All you have to do is press a button to release steam and, if desired, activate the eco-mode, which will help you save water and electricity. It is convenient that the device gives light and sound signals — for example, when ready for operation or switching modes.

Reliable and safe

Due to the rectangular shape of the platform, the cords can be wound directly onto the base — so they will not interfere during storage. The auto-off function is responsible for the safety of use: the system stops the heating of the device if it is installed on the platform and does not move for about 8 minutes. The Calc'nClean programme will also greatly facilitate the care of the device: it will itself signal that it is time to descale the iron, after which it will do all the main work. By the way, the kit includes a special stand, where, during cleaning, particles of scale and deposits accumulated inside will be collected.
