4 compartments and additional pockets
With the 23-liter Wenger backpack, it’s easy to “put everything in its place” because there are really many pockets and compartments. The main and most spacious is ready to accept not only a 17-inch laptop, but also a tablet computer. To protect gadgets, there are soft walls and a Hook-and-loop fastener.
Wenger Ibex 17" also received three front pockets at once. The smallest one is an organizer with a key holder and compartments for small items (pens, flash drives, etc.). The middle one is a mesh pocket for a phone and/or other necessary items. And the largest one is for documents A4 size, notebooks, etc. Plus, there is a top and a pair of side pockets with a zipper, as well as two more for bottles / umbrella and one on the strap.
Quality performance
The bottom and bag of the backpack are made of dense polyester fabric. It holds its shape quite well, which is helped by the stabilizing platform at the base of the CaseBase. Thanks to the latest Wenger, the Ibex 17" stands upright and does not fall. Other equipment bonuses include high-quality fittings with metal runners (nickel-plated zinc), a carrying handle with a cable at the base, and an Airflow ventilated embossed back.
However the model weighs really a lot (1.6 kg). Also, the disadvantages include the absence of a waist belt and a chest strap, at least one of these additional means of fixation and distribution of loads would not hurt.
Wenger Ibex 17" is definitely worth considering if you need a backpack with a well-thought-out organization of the internal space. And the existing shortcomings are leveled if you do not plan to carry a lot of weights and/or use the model for long walks.
