Trimm Spark

Optimal for tracking

The Czech manufacturer Trimm offers two versions of the Spark 2-person tent. A more affordable model without additional prefixes in the name is equipped with fiberglass arcs with a diameter of 6.3 to 7 mm. The Trimm Spark D version is more expensive, but offers an aluminium frame and 100 grams less weight (2.5 vs. 2.6 kg).

Both models take up a minimum of space in your hiking gear, as they are very compact in a compression bag — 45x13x13 cm.

The tent has a tunnel shape. Usually, such half-barrels are inferior to hemispheres in terms of resistance to wind loads, but the overall compactness and low height (only 95 cm) of the Trimm Spark 2 levels out the difference.

Formally, the model is equipped with one entrance, but since it is large and divided into two parts (left and right), it allows two tourists to use their side and not interfere with each other.

The tent provides a roomy vestibule, where it is easy to place both luggage and a kitchenette with a burner.

Quality materials

The outer tent of the Trimm Spark 2 is made of polyester with a water resistance of 4000 mm. The inner tent is a translucent breathable material with side pockets and a lantern loop. It is also important that in summer the outer awning can be quickly rolled up, which will improve air circulation and allow tourists to admire the night starry sky.

The nylon bottom guarantees increased protection against water (10000 mm), which makes the tent suitable for three seasons.

The downside of the model is the cramped inner tent. A tall tourist will not be able to sit comfortably inside because of the low height, and the total size of the bed 220x125 cm is not at all spacious compared to analogues. If this does not bother or, on the contrary, pleases (we are talking about couples in love), then the overall compactness and high water protection make the tent one of the best 2-person trekking solutions in the middle price segment.
