The thermos is just excellent. A while back (13 years ago) I bought the exact same one but with a capacity of 1.6 liters for trips out in nature. Based on those wonderful features and experience using it, in 2016 I purchased this thermos for my city backpack for work, but with a 0.75-liter capacity. The same great quality and high thermal insulation performance. Definitely recommend, time-tested! High quality, reliable construction, affordable price. It's not exactly disappointing, but the powder paint coating on the outside of the thermos comes off over time. However, this naturally doesn't affect the performance of the thermos itself. |
Two thermoses were purchased (I don't remember the exact sizes, but I think they were 0.75 and 1.2 liters). The design looks sleek, even a bit aggressive. The black matte surface doesn't slip in your hands and is less prone to fingerprints compared to traditional stainless steel thermoses. The manufacturer originally mentioned on the packaging about the long-lasting temperature retention. In home conditions (+20°C), boiling water cooled to 80°C and 79°C after 9.5 hours for the 1.2 and 0.75 liter sizes, respectively. During winter, there was an experience with mulled wine; I can't provide exact numbers, but after 3-4 hours in the cold, the drink remained hot, requiring cooling down before drinking. The absence of a valve means you have to unscrew the lid, but this ensures better sealing and thus such good temperature retention. A nice bonus is the additional cup, though it is a different size. Moreover, the cups are the same regardless of the thermos size. What wasn’t very comfortable was screwing the lid on; sometimes it's tricky, like dealing with a Morshynska bottle cap. I really liked this thermos. I often have to work in the field, so my requirements are quite high. It maintains the temperature of the liquid very well, and for me, it stays hot almost all day. By evening, the beverage won't be as hot as it was in the morning - it loses about 15-20 degrees, but that's an excellent result (my previous thermos performed much worse). The 1.2-liter volume is perfect. It's compact, yet there's enough coffee to last through the entire workday; you can always take a break and warm up. I've accidentally dropped the thermos from quite a height a few times, but it doesn't seem to have affected it in any way. Usually, thermoses become unusable after some hits and falls, but this one is still holding up, so experiments can continue :) As for the design, there isn't much to it. The thermos is essentially a plain dark cylinder with a brand logo, nothing more. The lid is made up of two cups, which is also a plus. Even though the thermos retains temperature well, I've started noticing heat loss at the cap. It heats up quite a bit, while the flask itself doesn't transfer temperature at all. I conducted an experiment with a cold drink, but it wasn't quite successful. It retains heat well, but cold not so much - about 4 or maybe 5 hours, and the drink becomes warm (on a very hot day, in the sun). Tramp brand products combine high quality and reasonable cost. The thermos with the TRC-028 index was no exception to this rule — a 1.2-liter model that maintains the temperature of the contents for a long time.

The manufacturer boasts of the terms of keeping drinks warm right on the box with a thermos. So, 6 hours after filling the flask, the temperature of the contents in it is about 82 °C, after 12 hours — 72 °C, and after a day — 58 °C. All these figures are confirmed in fact. Moreover, often the temperature inside the stainless steel flask is even higher than stated in the specifications.
Thermos with secrets
In order to reduce heat loss when filling cups with hot tea or coffee, the cork design provides for the possibility of pouring liquid without unscrewing it completely. For these purposes, special channels are made in the cork. Another secret lies in the top cover, which unscrews into two separate parts. So the model has access to an additional plastic cup so that you can drink hot water with someone else.

There are no significant downsides to the model. Judge for yourself, the paint from its outer walls will not peel off over time, the cold and heat in the thermos flask are maintained for a really long time, and the affordable price tag Tramp TRC-028 pleases the eye and wallet. Some owners of a thermos lack only a carrying case, however, even without it, thanks to a narrow elongated shape, the model can easily fit, for example, in a backpack.
