Quite spacious and comfortable tent, suitable for camping conditions and for comfortable outdoor recreation. Like all normal modern tents, it is two-layer, that is, it consists of external and internal awnings. The awning materials are similar in composition (these are polyester fabrics), but very different in properties. The outer tent is UV resistant, impervious to water and has a weave microstructure that effectively resists tearing. Inside, the residential tent, on the contrary, is made breathable. Due to this, during overnight stays, condensate does not accumulate inside, and a pair of ventilation cats on top make it possible to ventilate. But it is best to ventilate by opening both entrances. One of them, the main one, is equipped with a luxurious vestibule and a waterproof floor. So you can safely put things there. The frame is fiberglass, that is, fiberglass. The whole set weighs 6+ kg. Skillfully installed in 15-20 minutes. I even find it difficult to imagine who and with what fright called this tent a four-seater. Inside it is a living compartment measuring 220 by 205 centimeters, and how can you order four people to fit comfortably? Of course, you can push it, I do not argue. I am a member of a hiking club and together with my wife and daughter we regularly go hiking. Until 2014, we walked around Crimea every year. We went for a week during the May holidays and, more often than not, made another visit in the second half of September. Now we don’t go to Crimea, but we discovered the Carpathians. Amazing nature, but the weather conditions, however, are not as comfortable as in the warm Crimea. However, with such a good tent, weather conditions in the form of unexpected rain or strong wind are not very scary. Durable, waterproof, and wind-resistant. The material of the tent is made from high-quality polyester with a special high-strength weave. The floor is nylon, also dense and durable. Both the tent and the floor are coated with a waterproof polyurethane compound and it is claimed to have a fire-resistant coating as well. It has a lightweight fiberglass frame. The weight in an assembled and packed state is 5.5 kg, which is significant, but the comfort it provides outweighs this drawback. It features a vestibule with two entrances, which wonderfully accommodates belongings and shoes. The sleeping area measures 160x210 cm, which is quite enough for three people. It remains stable in the wind, and if the guy lines are set "with care", there are no issues even up to 22-25 m/s, personally tested. There is a mosquito net, pockets on the inner surface of the walls, and a loop to hang a time-tested and hiking-approved LED lantern. The snakes at the external entrance periodically jam, so they need to be treated with paraffin. Well, I’ll add that everyone is so heavy. Although when you carry everything on yourself, the problem of excess weight of luggage is always relevant with any tent. |
For hiking all year round
The double tent, presented by the Ukrainian manufacturer Terra Incognita in the fall of 2019, is positioned as a solution for any season, including winter. Partly confirms the status of a high level of moisture resistance. It is 4000 mm of water column for the polyester tent, supplemented by the Rip Stop system, and 8000 mm for the nylon bottom.
But for really difficult or extreme weather conditions, you should look at expedition tents, and Terra Incognita Bravo 2 is better to consider for a warm season and off-season, which often presents weather surprises.
Two places, two entrances
In the complete case, when folded, the model is very compact (50x16x16 cm), and when unfolded, it forms a sleeping place measuring 130x220 cm. This is a purely double option, when the third one is definitely superfluous. But two people will be as comfortable as possible here, because each has its own entrance with a vestibule 80 cm long. In addition to mosquito nets, pockets and a lamp loop, a hanging shelf for small items is offered in the equipment.
By the way, the presence of two entrances, among other things, will help effective air exchange in hot weather.

Distinctive features of Terra Incognita Bravo 2 is the shape of a semi-barrel with an external frame. The latter simplifies installation as much as possible, but will not allow you to put up an inner tent without an awning separately. The original shape of the model is created by three parallel fibreglass arcs. In most cases, half-barrels lose to hemispheres in terms of wind protection, but this tent is able to compete with them by reducing the height, which is 100 cm.
Of the shortcomings, it is worth highlighting the heavy weight in terms of one person (1.88 kg). A similar version with aluminium arches — Bravo 2 Alu — turned out to be a little lighter, but it also costs more.
