How to choose a water filter and water filter cartridgesKey criteria for choosing a water filtration system and cartridges for them
Model overview based on user reviews
The SVOD ST 400 pre-filter has received mixed reviews from users. One user expressed dissatisfaction, highlighting a discrepancy between the advertised and actual cartridge capacity, noting it claims to last for 70,000 liters but is actually only 45,000 liters. They also pointed out a design flaw where a hole allows some water to bypass the filtration chamber, questioning the filter's effectiveness and considering it a potential scam. On the other hand, another user praised the filter for being economical, lightweight, and having a high-quality, durable housing. They installed it on a boiler as recommended and found it to perform well until the boiler required maintenance. Overall, while some users appreciate its build and cost-effectiveness, others are concerned about its filtration efficiency and misleading specifications.

wasted money

I purchased this filter. It has two issues. 1-The manufacturer advertises that it will last for 70,000 liters, but in the instructions in smaller print, it says the cartridge's capacity is 45,000 liters. But the most interesting part is the second issue. 2-If you closely look into the filter against the light through the inlet and outlet openings, you will find a neatly drilled hole made by the manufacturer. It has the same diameter as the water hose that connects to it. I measured it. Standard water hoses with an aluminum casing. In other words, only part of the water will not flow straight through and will enter the filtration chamber. This leads to a reasonable thought - do you really need a filter if it only filters some of the water coming to you? And overall, pay for the filter costing 300 gr, two rubber tubes - 180 gr, a couple of brass adapters - 120 gr, and a master's work if you are not installing it yourself. If you can do it yourself, it will cost about 700 gr; with a master, a little over 1000. And as a result, with each filtered liter, possibly 400 ml of water will still pass through the filter... In my opinion, it's a rare money scam and maintenance consequence... it's up to you to decide, but I figured this out before installation and returned it to the store. Scam. The most interesting moment was in the store during the return; the employee said that it is a technological solution to avoid excessive pressure and so on. And that if I want all the water to be filtered, then I need to block this hole with improvised means, but the water pressure at the outlet will drop significantly. For me, that's already absurd...
