Skullcandy Inkd 2

Since 2003, the American company Skullcandy has occupied a niche among manufacturers manufacturing and selling electronic products for active street sports. Its product portfolio includes wired and wireless headphones, headsets, portable Bluetooth audio systems that are great for a sports lifestyle, including the Inkd 2 wired headset model.

Appearance — simple and pleasant

Outwardly, the headset looks without any frills, but it impresses with an abundance of combined colours: only 24, from soft and calm to bright and flashy. The headphones retain an indispensable attribute of the manufacturer — a stylized image of a skull. The cable has an increased length of 1.3 m. This was done because of the sports purpose and for the convenience of people whose height starts from 190 cm (a standard cable of 1.2 m will be short for them). The cord is not made in a round section, but in the form of a tape, which prevents twisting, although not completely. The plug has a straight shape, which is not very convenient for most devices, but is gold plated for improved contact and sound transmission. The included set of spare silicone tips is designed to help fit the speakers in the ears in the most comfortable way and provide reliable passive noise isolation, and in this regard, it is not clear why there is only one.

Material and functionality

The headphone housing is made of Soft-Touch polymer material. This makes the device surprisingly light: less than four grams of weight. The control unit is glossy, and its colour is usually different from the rest of the product (but not always). The design of the block is standard: a microphone and one call answer button, which has standard functionality when listening to music: one press — pause / turn on, two — the next track, three — the previous one. Management is easy and intuitive, in addition, it is described in detail on the packaging.

Sound features

In the assessments of the sound of the model, good sound insulation is noted, which maximally prevents interference from the surrounding space. At the same time, there are complaints about too aggressive high frequencies and too slick bass. There are no complaints about the middle range.

The Skullcandy Inkd 2 is designed with the outdoors in mind and does what it's supposed to do at a reasonable price.
