Slim body and easy handling
Introduced in 2021, Samsung's TV is the direct successor to last year's UE-50TU8000. It, like its predecessor, is characterized by small frames, but has got a new AirSlim design. So, the case, excluding the stand, is very thin here (only 26 mm), thanks to which the model looks elegant a la a premium solution.
Samsung UE-50AU8000 works in tandem with proprietary OS Tizen. It will please you with smooth operation, intuitive navigation and a large selection of applications. An updated remote with voice control and Bixby assistant is offered to control the TV, while the younger representatives of the 7th series, like the UE-50AU7100, do not provide voice interaction.
For film and television
The 50-inch 4K TV is well-suited for movie viewing: in dimly lit environments, blacks appear natural and uniform, resulting in high contrast ratios. A high-quality anti-glare coating reflects glare well, which means that even a moderate overall brightness of the display will not interfere with watching TV shows or other content in a lit room. However this feature no longer affects the quality of HDR (HDR10 + standard): the difference with SDR content is not very large.
Factory calibration is characterized by accurate colour reproduction. The Crystal 4K processor and branded "improvers" of colour (Pur Colour) and contrast (Contrast Enhancer) are designed to make initially not the highest quality content more juicy, rich and pleasing to the eye.
But for a large company of viewers, the Samsung UE-50AU8000 is not the best fit, since the picture at the corners seriously fades and loses quality.
For games and more
The TV is also suitable for games (on a PC or set-top box). To improve smoothness in dynamic scenes, PQI technology should increase software 60 Hz to 2000 fps. Plus, in game mode, the minimum input lag is guaranteed.
Among other features, it is worth highlighting modern wireless modules (Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth v 5.2) and the AirPlay 2 function, which makes it easy to broadcast content from the iPhone and other mobile Apple devices on the TV.
Samsung UE-50AU8000 is one of the best entry-level TVs from a well-known brand.
