Recognizable appearance

A distinctive feature of the Philips TV is the signature backlight Ambilight. Here it is three-sided, that is, the LEDs are located around the perimeter of the back side of the case on the sides and top. They project light onto the wall to match what is happening on the screen. Also, branded backlighting supports music, gaming, relaxing and other modes, and is able to work synchronously with Philips smart bulbs.

The frames and the centre stand of the TV are made in silver. On the back of the case are the main interfaces, including 4 HDMI. It is important that, unlike the solutions of the 7th series, Philips 65PUS8545 is equipped with a Wi-Fi 5 module, and its bandwidth is sufficient for streaming video with Ultra HD resolution.

All HDR standards

The TV received a 65-inch screen with a 60-Hz matrix refresh rate and a Philips P5 Perfect Picture processor responsible for image processing. To increase the detail, there is Upscaling up to 4K, and to improve the smoothness of the video sequence, there is a software increase in the frame rate (2100 PPI technology).

The image is characterized by a good level of brightness, which, together with the "omnivorous" Philips 65PUS8545 in relation to the current HDR formats (not only HDR10 and HGL, but also Dolby Vision with HDR10 +), allows you to count on an even more impressive picture when playing the corresponding content.

Android TV

The TV uses the Android TV 9.0 operating system with all its strong features, including speed, flexible synchronization with mobile devices, a wealth of multimedia services, online cinemas and other applications. The remote control is equipped with quick access and Ambilight on/off buttons. However it is not multimedia and without a QWERTY keyboard, like the Philips 65PUS8535, but with a microphone for controlling voice commands and/or interacting with voice assistants.

On board, the model also has 16 GB of internal memory, a digital TV tuner and 20-watt acoustics. The latter, due to the DTS Play-Fi function, can be supplemented with compatible portable acoustics.

Philips 65PUS8545 is a TV worthy of attention, notable both for its signature backlighting and the ability to play any modern HDR content.
