Another flagship killer
OPPO Find X2 literally just appeared on the market, but it already seems to be a very controversial device. If you google its reviews, the phrases “Galaxy killer” or “flagship of the year” will often flash, while not a single reviewer will be able to clearly say what exactly it is the best. Well, let's take a look at its strengths together and see if they justify the $1,000 price tag.
The best display on the market?
It is customary to start a conversation with Find X2 from a huge 6.7-inch OLED display with a resolution of 3168x1440 pixels, support for a refresh rate of 120 Hz, HDR 10+, hardware “acceleration” of Ultra Vision Engine content and auto-tuning of colours, which is very reminiscent of Apple's True Tone. The display really turned out to be chic, I want to praise it literally on every point. Just be careful with the refresh rate, if you use the Oppo Find X2 at 120 Hz for several days and pick up a regular smartphone with 60 Hz, it seems that the old device is a complete brake.
Charging from 0 to 100% in 38 minutes
The smartphone has an excellent triple camera with 5x hybrid zoom, wide-angle sensor Sony IMX708 and excellent stabilization. In terms of design, the OPPO Find X2 looks familiar (large rounded body, neat cutout for the front camera, metal frames and a glass back), and from the additional chips, a monstrous 65-watt charger catches the eye, which refuels a full tank in just 38 minutes. There is no wireless charging, but there is a fingerprint scanner built into the screen and a Wi-Fi receiver of the sixth version.
Excellent but not perfect
In general, the smartphone turned out to be excellent, but it cannot be said that it stands out against the background of other flagships of this year. Yes, the screen is gorgeous, the filling is top-notch, the system is perfectly optimized, and the camera is a feast for the eyes, but wasn’t it already in The Simpsons? Every good $1,000 handset now comes equipped with a Snapdragon 865, 8-12GB of RAM, plenty of onboard storage, and a camera that ranks #1 on Dxomark's top. At the same time, Find X2 has enough shortcomings. There is only one slot for a SIM card, memory cards are not supported, and IP54 water protection of the case is one name. It is strictly forbidden for him to drop it into the water or take pictures in the pool. There is only one conclusion from this — the device is really excellent, especially for those who like to play or watch movies on a smartphone. But this is hardly the smartphone of the year, with such a price tag it has a lot of competitors.
