Non-trivial design

A non-trivial approach to design makes Nillkin more like Swedish masters from Bang & Olufsen than other Chinese brands that attract buyers with low prices. The company's range of speakers includes a model that looks like a Thanos bagel ship or a night light speaker that resembles a smoking pipe.

Modern gramophone

So the new model Cozy MC5 literally asks for the most prominent place in the room. The delicately curved plastic housing mimics the shape of a gramophone, and the front speakers are covered with high-quality, pleasant to the touch fabric. A neat metal stand with a glossy galvanized finish completes the look. The column itself weighs almost 2 kg and stands quite firmly “on its feet”.

Full format acoustics

The Cozy MC5 is built in 3-in-1 style, using two full-length drivers, a small low-frequency woofer, and a passive radiator. A 36W amplifier is hidden inside the case, which allows the speaker to sound quite loud. If there is not enough, then you can combine a pair of Cozy MC5s into a full-fledged stereo system via a wireless connection. But even in single mode, the Cozy MC5 sounds surprisingly pleasant. The speakers have an open soft sound, accentuated bass and a decent volume margin, you definitely don’t expect such sound quality from acoustics of this size.

Support for NFC and Apt-X codecs

Cozy MC5 supports wireless connection via Bluetooth with aptX and NFC codecs. Bluetooth works according to the fourth version protocol and keeps in touch at a distance of up to 10 metres, and to connect with NFC, you just need to bring your smartphone closer to the speaker. Alternatively, there is a good old 3.5 audio output. Well, special thanks to the engineers for the remote control in the kit, which simplifies all these manipulations, and also allows, if necessary, to tint the character of the sound with the help of an equalizer.
