Travel Games
Playing on a laptop on the go with a mouse is inconvenient, and the built-in touchpad is basically unsuitable for gaming. That’s where the MSI Force GC20 gamepad comes to the rescue. In addition to laptops and PCs running Windows, it is also compatible with Android smartphones and tablets, as well as the old but still widely loved Sony PlayStation 3 console (requires switching from XInput to DirectInput mode).

In shape and button layout, the Force GC20 is somewhat between the original Microsoft Xbox 360 controllers (similar narrow bumpers) and the Xbox One (same wide triggers). The sticks are tall and rubberized, and unlike cheap gamepads, are almost completely devoid of "dead zones" (angle of deflection where activation is not recorded). The grips are also rubberized for a more secure hold.
Two D-pads
The main feature of the Force GC20 is the interchangeable magnetic D-pad, which can be either separate (better for platformers like Trine, Rayman, Hollow Knight) or solid (more convenient for fighting games such as Mortal Kombat, Tekken, Street Fighter). Besides MSI, only the five-times more expensive Xbox One Elite Controller can boast something similar. In addition to the aforementioned genres, the gamepad is comfortable for playing sports simulations (FIFA, PES, NBA), slashers (DMC, Dark Souls), and racing games (Forza, NFS). Vibration feedback enhances the immersion effect.
Two Cables
The Force GC20 gamepad connects to laptops, PCs, and PS3 via a long USB cable, and to smartphones and tablets through a short micro-USB wire. However, a mount or stand for mobile devices is not included, you will have to purchase it separately or craft something from available materials. In conclusion, the MSI Force GC20 is a comfortably fitting (if you're accustomed to the asymmetrical stick layout) and well-built gamepad that can be connected to most popular gaming platforms.
