Manfrotto tripods have gained wide recognition among professional photographers and videographers. Recently, the company has also started producing camera gimbals, among which the 300XM model deserves special attention.
Modular design
The Steadicam has a modular design. The head is made of metal and thanks to a standard slot with a 3/8" thread, it can be mounted on various studio stands, sliders, monopods and poles, such as the signature Manfrotto Gimboom "rod". The kit includes a removable control handle equipped with a built-in gyroscope and functioning as a wireless remote control. For this, the motors and handle have separate batteries.
Ease of control
The gimbal handle is equipped with a color touch screen. There are also physical buttons for quick access to the main functions and a motorized wheel that allows you to control the position of the camera along one of the axes, as well as the electronic focus and exposure of compatible cameras. All settings can also be controlled via the Manfrotto Gimbal 300XM mobile app.
Automatic modes
The model can withstand heavy loads of up to 3.4 kg, while its weight is about 2 kg. The automatic modes include tracked panning (PF), locking modes (Lock), tracking (PTF), first-person view (FPV) and portrait shooting. Independent axis locking is also provided. The gimbal confidently copes with heavy setups, and its functionality significantly exceeds many similar ones on the market.
