Model overview based on user reviews
The Makita 1911B electric planer is a professional-grade tool known for its reliability and efficiency. Users appreciate its superb performance in smoothing various surfaces, including those with knots, thanks to its powerful motor and 16,000 rpm speed. The planer is easy to maintain, with a simple blade removal process using a cross-head screwdriver. Its weight of 4.3 kg is considered convenient, requiring minimal effort during use. However, some users find the front handle uncomfortable, likening it to a motorcycle fuel cap that requires a cloth for a better grip. Despite this, the tool is praised for its durability, working flawlessly for years in different conditions. The Makita 1911B is ideal for professional use, offering a robust solution for extensive woodworking tasks, although it may not be the best choice for occasional home use due to its price and specific features.
Pros
Cons
It has been working for 8 years now without problems, and works flawlessly in winter and summer without any breakdowns. I sharpen the knives myself, they are reusable and installation is extremely simple and convenient. In the summer, I lubricate the wood resin with solarium from time to time. Great model, I recommend it The disadvantages include the front handle, but I’m somehow used to it, it’s fine for me use Makita 1911B more than year |
Not a cheap tool, but it is already for professionals. It won't let you down in the most inconvenient situations, it will work long and hard, just take care of the tool. By the way, I don't know if it's true or not, but I was told it's very sensitive to drops, there's some thing in the motor, very necessary. On top of that, it's a very quiet planer! this is an excellent machine; we made a doghouse from boards and beams, and it came in handy. Absolutely superb, don't think that we bought it just to build a doghouse. This is a professional tool. Occasionally, I pick up side jobs in construction, so I had to get something worthwhile. It's practical and very reliable; it never overheats. It smooths out absolutely any surface and even those places where there are knots that grew who knows how. Note that it does not just rip them out but actually smooths and evens them out. The weight of 4.2 kg is very convenient; you don't have to apply any effort to work. Its weight is just right for such tasks. The blade is also very easy to maintain; it is removed with a cross-head screwdriver and is held by 2 bolts. It's a simple piece of metal that can be sharpened if it becomes dull and put back. You can also adjust the depth there by tightening. It sands not only flat surfaces but also corners and so on, generally anywhere you attach it. the handle in the front is uncomfortable, overall it's not convenient to hold properly because it's plastic, more similar to a motorcycle fuel cap, for those who remember, it wasn't possible to open it without a cloth, just like here, you can only grip it with a cloth. Everything else is just perfect... |
