Signature Nano Cell screen
LG's 49-inch TV belongs to the middle price segment (seventh series), but represents the premium line of Super UHD. This is explained by the fact that the TV received a proprietary Nano Cell screen.
This LG technology is similar to Samsung's QLED and involves the use of nanoparticles that improve the quality of the colour rendering of the matrix. Together with HDR support, the screen forms a bright, rich, realistic picture.
Clear and contrast image
LG 49SK7900 received a screen with a resolution of Ultra HD 4K. Upscaling is provided to improve the detail of lower resolution videos. Acceptable panel contrast ratios are provided by local dimming technology with the ability to customize. But in general, picture quality in the dark is worse than that of the main competitors.
The IPS matrix “retains” the main advantages of the image in almost any position in front of the screen: with an increase in the viewing angle, the contrast and colour reproduction remain unchanged, and only the brightness level decreases.
The TV is not inferior in image quality to the popular model of 2017 LG 49SJ810V, representing the older (eighth) series of the manufacturer. The panel is slightly inferior to it in the smoothness of dynamic scenes, but the standard refresh rate of 50 Hz is improved by software, which is helped by True Motion and PMI technologies.
Design and smart features
The LG 49SK7900 has a thin bezel, a neat back surface and widely spaced legs that guarantee the stability of the panel (however, you can't put it on a narrow pedestal).
Extensive multimedia capabilities are provided by the webOS platform, which is characterized by high speed, intuitive menus and a variety of available applications.
The TV received a standard control panel and a 2.0 audio system, 4 HDMI and 2 USB ports, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth modules for wireless connection, and popular digital TV tuners.
For the price, the LG 49SK7900 looks interesting enough, offering acceptable picture quality and most of the necessary multimedia features.
