Mid-budget 16-inch laptops from Lenovo represent the IdeaPad series, which combines balanced solutions for work and educational tasks. The Pro 5 16IRH8 family features decent hardware, including a discrete graphics card, which, among other things, allows these portable PCs to be used with demanding software, as well as for a wide range of multimedia entertainment, including casual gaming.

All Lenovo IdeaPad Pro 5 16IRH8 laptops are equipped with a 16-inch IPS screen with increased detail (resolution 2560x1600 pixels) and refresh rate (120 Hz). With quite standard brightness and contrast parameters, the display has a good color gamut (covering 100% of the sRGB space) and should not cause eye fatigue during long sessions (they are certified by TÜV Rheinland). Intel's 13th generation Raptor Lake processors are primarily responsible for the performance of laptops: older versions use a 14-core Core i7 engine with a clock frequency of 1.8 GHz.

The system's performance is helped by a supply of 16 GB of DDR5-5200 MHz RAM, and for graphics processing an NVIDIA GeForce video card of either the 3000 or even 4000 series is offered. Representatives of the line also acquired a 512 GB SSD M.2 solid-state drive, a stereo speaker system with a Realtek ALC3287 chip and a 75 Wh battery. The latter should provide up to 14 hours of battery life, and also supports fast charging (a 15-minute connection to an outlet will provide another 3 hours of work). Additional benefits include a durable aluminium case that meets the military standard MIL-STD-810, a FullHD webcam with shutter, a face scanner (FaceID), a white backlit keyboard and a glass touchpad. The abundance of current interfaces confirms the presence of the Thunderbolt v4 port.
