The American company Klipsch has been manufacturing high-quality musical equipment for professionals and music lovers for many decades. The R-100SW subwoofer is a prime example of a high-performance, high-performance bass amplifier priced at just over $400.

Thought out to the smallest detail

The subwoofer received an MDF cabinet with an ebony vinyl finish and a removable thick fabric grille. Hidden underneath is a 10-inch copper-plated woofer that looks quite impressive, so some may prefer to remove the grille.

The rear panel houses a bass reflex port, level, phase, crossover frequency, low-level LFE and high-level linear RCA input, as well as a Standby mode toggle switch that automatically turns on the system when an input signal is detected.

According to Klipsch engineers, an extremely low level of distortion is ensured by the die-cast graphite woofer diaphragm. It is lightweight, but very durable, so it can easily withstand high loads. The 150W class D amplifier, capable of handling peaks up to 300W, also plays a significant role. As a result, the sound is rich and full-bodied, with excellent frequency balance in the range of 32 – 120 Hz.

Definitely, the capabilities of the Klipsch R-100SW are worth more than they are asked to pay for. The subwoofer integrates seamlessly into any setup and complements it perfectly, yet completely unobtrusively.
