This compact electric meat grinder from Kenwood has an all-steel body and is able to easily and quickly grind foods of different hardness. The heart of the device is an engine with a nominal operating power of 500 W, which is quite enough to process even a sinewy meat product into minced meat. At the same time, at peak load times, the power increases up to 1600 W, which will help out when the shaft is blocked or another emergency occurs. In one minute, the device can process up to 2 kg of meat into minced meat. Thanks to the "Reverse" function, the spiral auger of the meat grinder can be reversed, and thereby free the tool from the accumulation of sinewy fibers. Kenwood MG 515 is equipped with three molding grids with holes with a diameter of 3 mm, 4.5 mm and 8 mm. Additionally, there are...special nozzles for cooking sausages and kebbe.

Model overview based on user reviews
The Kenwood Pro 1600 MG 515 meat mincer has a beautiful and hygienic metal body, but it has received mixed reviews from users. While some appreciate its fast engine and reverse function, many have criticized its high noise level, comparable to a vacuum cleaner, and the fact that it presses rather than cuts the meat. Several users reported issues with the knife's performance, leading to meat being squished rather than properly ground. There are also concerns about the durability of the gears, with some users experiencing repeated gear failures even during the warranty period. Despite these issues, one user noted that it performs better than more expensive models and is stable during use. However, the overall sentiment suggests that potential buyers should consider quieter and more reliable alternatives.

If it weren’t for the knives (it doesn’t cut meat well), it would be a good model.
23 January 2011
I bought it to replace my Soviet one which lasted more than 10 years. Initially, a polyethylene gear got worn out, so I machined it from bronze. But the meat grinder's blades started cutting poorly, and replacing them with new ones didn’t help. After reading reviews, I decided to purchase the Kenwood MG-515. I liked the appearance and the complete set, i.e., everything seemed fine at first glance. But when I turned it on for the first time, I was disappointed. The noise level is half the problem, similar to a vacuum cleaner, something you can tolerate for half an hour. But the issue is that the meat doesn't come out as strands; it gets squished and comes out as if from gaps – that's a drawback. I constantly have to cut it with a knife – and by the way, a lot of metal fragments come out, probably small bits of the grid and blade. And this is on the largest grid! So it works like my old one! Why did I spend so much money – almost 6 thousand? Overall, I expected more. The manual claims it grinds 2 kg per minute – that's just an advertisement. Grinding 2 kg takes about 10 minutes, mainly because the motor runs fast. I've used it twice so far. If my opinion on this model changes, I’ll write an update.
Beautiful, fast engine, reverse
1.Noisy like a vacuum cleaner. 2. Presses the meat, not cuts it!

Look for quieter options

It makes more noise than the Soviet electric meat grinder made in 1991, which I wanted to replace with a modern one and regretted it.
Hygienic body, metal, monolithic, without joints or gaps - microcollectors.
Noise > 90 dB!!! By the end of grinding 2 kg of meat, my ears became uncomfortable! The knife is bad, it doesn’t cut, so the meat is pressed through the grill.

a model with serious flaws
22 January 2016
purchased at Eldorado on 25.12.14, after 3 months the gear broke (warranty repair took 38 days) after 2 months the gear broke (repair took 26 days), another 2 months and the gear broke again (repair took 28 days) WARRANTY IS OVER. I USE IT MANUALLY WHILE LOOKING AT KENWOOD. P.S. My parents’ 514 model was bought in 2010 and is still working. No repairs!
