An advanced and multifunctional vacuum cleaner model from the popular American company iRobot, which specializes specifically in the production of robotic vacuum cleaners that require minimal human intervention to clean the room — at the level of turning on the device itself and selecting a programme. The dust collector of this model is small — only 0.4 L, but it belongs to the "cyclone" type, it can be easily removed for cleaning and washing; A convenient full indicator is provided, which allows you to throw out the accumulated garbage in time.

The device is powered by a lithium-ion battery, which provides up to 75 minutes of work in a completely offline mode — this is quite enough for cleaning a small apartment; it will take 3 hours to restore the charge level, but at the same time, the robot is equipped with a charging station, where it independently calls in for recharging when necessary. The iRobot Roomba i7 vacuum cleaner can clean on a schedule — you just need to set the cleaning time, “sees” and avoids obstacles, and also boasts an improved iAdapt 3.0 mapping system. The device also supports the ability to control via the Internet, for which the user needs to install a proprietary application on a smartphone or tablet. In addition to the charging station, the model is equipped with a side brush and a turbo brush. And this miniature model weighs only 3.9 kg.

Three-stage cleaning system

An expensive, but multifunctional robot vacuum cleaner represents the range of iRobot, which has a great hand in the development of such devices, constantly improving its products and adding new technologies. The model is intended only for dry cleaning, because it is often better to do one task well than to grab several and not achieve the perfect result. Therefore, in dry cleaning iRobot Roomba i7 is a real pro. It has a fairly high suction power, so it thoroughly removes small and large debris from any surface, be it laminate, parquet or carpet.

For high-quality cleaning, a three-stage AeroForce system is provided. The side brush sweeps debris from corners and along skirting boards, while the two main rubber brushes rotate towards each other and fit snugly on the floor to be able to capture even the smallest particles. Hair and wool do not get tangled on them, as on ordinary bristled brushes, so the robot will be a good helper in a house where there are pets. As a result, the garbage gets into the dust collector with a volume of 400 ml, and the HEPA filter catches the smallest particles of garbage, mold spores and other types of allergens. The dust collector is small, but there is an indicator on the body that will tell you that the tank is full and needs to be cleaned.

A big plus is the presence of Dirt Detect technology: special sensors recognize concentrated areas of dirt and carpets so that the device can understand where more thorough cleaning is needed and adjust the power.

Knows where he is and what to do

The robot is guided indoors by the iAdapt 3.0 navigation system and vSLAM technology. Thanks to the camera and various sensors that prevent collisions with obstacles and falls from the stairs, the vacuum cleaner remembers different rooms, analyzes the situation and makes thoughtful routes so as not to miss anything and not waste time. You can also restrict certain areas where he does not need to go, but for this you will have to use a special Dual Mode Virtual Wall device, which, fortunately, is included in the package. As well as the batteries needed to run it.

But the battery life is not the strongest side of the model. One battery charge lasts a maximum of 75 minutes. But this will not be a problem if time is not running out, because, having discharged, the robot independently goes to the base and, having replenished its energy reserves, returns to where it left off.

Wi-Fi control

There are several options available in the user management plan. The first is the buttons on the case, the second is voice commands for the Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa virtual assistants, the third is an application on a smartphone or tablet. The third method is the most convenient and complete, because using a smartphone you can remotely start the vacuum cleaner, plan a cleaning schedule, check the map, set parameters (number of passes and mode), monitor the current state of the equipment and receive reports on the work done.
