The HTC Re camera is more like a miniature periscope than a photo and video recording device. Its design turns out to be not only original, but also practical.
Periscope
The body of the camcorder is made of glossy plastic and measures just under 10 cm high and about 2.5 cm wide. The assembly level is quite high, which is confirmed by dust and water protection according to the IP57 standard — the camera can be submerged under water to a depth of 1 m for half an hour without any problems. There are only two controls on the case: the main key under the thumb, which acts as a shutter button and start recording video, as well as an additional key on the inside of the bend, which is responsible for shooting time-lapses and slow-motion video. The camera is turned on with the help of a grip-sensor — it automatically detects the moment when the device enters the hand.

A 16-megapixel matrix is hidden inside the camera, providing good quality photo and video files. The built-in lens has a wide field of view (approximately 146°) and a maximum aperture of f/2.8. But there is no autofocus system and no optical image stabilizer. However the digital image stabilization system handles with its obligations very well. The camera records video in FullHD and HD formats, and also takes 16-megapixel still images. It should be taken into account only the moment that the default photo quality is set to medium (12 MP).
Options
Shooting settings are configured using a connected smartphone with Android or iOs OS on board. To do this, the "Re" application must be installed on the mobile gadget. Once you've set the basic settings, you can focus on shooting 2 hours of video or more than a thousand photos — that's how long a single charge of the 820 mAh battery should last.

The inhaler camera does not cope well only with shooting in the dark — it stubbornly refuses to turn on in too dark places, and the footage in low light conditions does not shine with high quality.
