HP has long had its own division, which is engaged in the production of backpacks for the company's equipment. The hero of this review, the Omen backpack is designed primarily to carry large and heavy gaming laptops of the Omen series. Externally, the Omen Gaming Backpack is quite simple, minimalistic and clearly designed for the city, not hiking. The usual rectangular shape and black colour are diluted with red hardware, patches with the Omen logo and red fabric on the inside pockets.

For really big laptops

The backpack has two main compartments (one for a laptop with electronics, the second for things) and 3 external compartments for small items, water bottles, etc. In general, the location of the pockets here is more than thoughtful, and the internal volume allows you to fit a bunch of electronics inside and everyday things. I didn’t like it, except perhaps the too simple fabric from which the internal partitions are made. Although, this is already nit-picking.

Additional protection

The quality of tailoring is at a high level, and the whole design is sharpened so that the laptop is protected, and you do not have to carry it stressfully. This manifests itself in comfortable straps and an anatomical back, waterproof fabric and a large amount of filler, which is stuffed with the outer walls and bottom of the backpack. This made it possible to protect the expensive laptop from rain and accidental drops as much as possible. Judging by the reviews on the network, a laptop hidden inside the Omen Gaming Backpack can be safely slammed onto the asphalt from a metre height and nothing will happen to it. Although we would not test this in fact — it feels like the walls are not so dense as to hope for 100% protection.
