Model overview based on user reviews
The HP 255 G8 is a versatile laptop that offers a balance of performance and affordability. It features a range of processors, including the Ryzen 5 3500U and Ryzen 7 5700U, paired with integrated Vega 8 graphics, making it suitable for office tasks, light gaming, and multimedia use. The laptop is lightweight and has a good build quality, with a display that includes an IPS panel and anti-glare features. However, the SVA matrix has limited color accuracy and narrow viewing angles. It offers upgrade potential with two RAM slots and space for additional storage. The device is equipped with a fast NVMe SSD, enhancing its performance. While it lacks a keyboard backlight and has only two USB 3.0 ports, it compensates with Ethernet connectivity. The laptop's battery life is moderate, and the plastic body may not feel premium. Overall, the HP 255 G8 is a reliable choice for those seeking a budget-friendly laptop with decent performance and upgrade options.

If anyone knows how discrete graphics can be installed - tell me, I'll be the judge.

I am using a model with an R5 3500U processor, Vega 8 gfx, and 2GB of video memory. In almost a year and a half, the device has been in service only for thermal paste replacement on the processor and adding an additional SSD. The laptop has decent performance in simple video and audio editing programs (except for heavy ones like Photoshop), works perfectly in browsers, and office programs like Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc. It is also suitable for light gaming, but serious projects won't work. Although the Vega 8 is a good integrated graphics card, due to the technological process and Zen+ architecture, there is a noticeable frame shortage. Another feature is the temperature limit of 65 degrees on the processor, after which the laptop goes into throttling.
For its time (specifically August-September 2021, with an attractive price of 17k UAH; decent performance, decent SSD NVME M.2 from KIOXIA, i.e., Toshiba; relatively lightweight; upgrade potential (2 slots for DDR4 RAM; space for an additional SSD/HDD; in my case, the board has a spot for discrete graphics and separate spots for video memory and VRM, but without knowing related models, upgrading doesn't make sense since the cooling system would need replacement); if desired - replace the matrix. For the same money, Intel offered not the best quality models with Pentiums or old Cores.
The SVA (standard view angle) matrix, which has a limited color palette and narrow viewing angles, albeit slightly better than the standard TN; not the best battery life (gaming offline - 1.5 hours, simple applications - more than 2.5 hours, but no more than 4); not the highest quality webcam, but that's just showing off; no keyboard backlight; low TDP, with the airflow blowing directly onto the matrix; only 2 USB 3.0 ports, which is insufficient; the plastic is not of high quality; to disassemble the laptop, you need to remove the rubber feet on the bottom cover, which voids the warranty; the RTC battery function is performed by the main battery, and its disconnection resets the settings of the already limited UEFI to default values; not the most productive wi-fi module, but this is compensated by the presence of an Ethernet module; For those who like to play CS or high-performance games, changing the power limits will not be possible, Ryzen Master does not work as this is a limited processor, but I think on the 3550H this can be changed.
A model worth purchasing with good features, but nothing outstanding.

The laptop is awesome (HP 250 G8 Grey (59S24EA)), quite powerful in any usage scenarios, even though it is positioned as an office ultrabook. It features a sufficiently powerful Ryzen 7 5700u processor with integrated Vega 8 graphics, a spacious and fast NVMe SSD m.2 drive, and 8 GB RAM (3200 MHz). It handles demanding multi-threaded tasks and games. The only downside is that the RAM is installed in single-channel, which doesn't fully ensure performance, but there is a second slot for future upgrade options. The speakers are almost devoid of bass, but the highs are excellent (equalizer adjustment is recommended). Registration on the official website is problem-free (13-month warranty, all necessary drivers are available for download, but you need to additionally download from the official AMD website).
Lightweight, good build quality, nice display with an IPS panel, anti-glare, and a wide color gamut, barely heats up under load. Licensed Windows 11 Home. There are 2 RAM slots. Powerful CPU.
Mediocre speakers, single-channel RAM mode out of the box, all-plastic body, no keyboard backlight

A quite decent budget device
28 August 2021
Everything works like clockwork: quiet keyboard, barely audible fan, even suitable for non-demanding games. When installing Windows 10, it complained about a different partition order on the SSD even after formatting, but overall it installed in 10 minutes. Drivers were downloaded from the official HP website and installed via flash drive. Windows pulled the missing drivers itself. Also, for a small performance boost, you can visit the official AMD website and download the driver for the Vega 8 integrated in the processor. The display has decent horizontal viewing angles, but the vertical ones are poor, just like TN-panels. The body is made of cheap plastic, so it's advisable to wipe it with some degreasing agents to prevent it from becoming a model for greasy fingerprints. The USB ports are very tight, making it very difficult to pull out any flash drive.
Portability, appearance, silence, performance, keyboard, SSD from KIOXIA (formerly Toshiba), possibility of slight upgrade, SVA matrix (better than TN ones), web camera, sound from speakers
Assembly material, "tight" USB ports, touchpad, FreeDOS, "stripped-down" BIOS
