A spacious, efficient and reliable boiler, mainly designed to supply hot water to a family of 3-5 people. Two “dry” heating elements with a total power of 2 kW are used as heating elements, which are not covered with a crust of loose scale, and the built-in thermostat automatically monitors the compliance of the heating mode with the one specified by the user. In this case, the maximum water heating temperature is 75 °C. Protected from oxidation by an occasionally replaceable anode made of active magnesium, the enameled tank with a capacity of 100 liters has a factory warranty for a period of 10 years. The Gorenje GBFU 100 SIM V9 boiler can be freely installed in a vertical or horizontal orientation, which is of no small importance for owners of cramped or densely filled rooms with furnitu...re and equipment. The round body, thermally insulated with polyurethane, fits harmoniously into the bathroom environment and perfectly prevents heat loss, thereby ensuring high efficiency and energy savings.

Model overview based on user reviews
The Gorenje GBFU SIM series of water heaters is praised for its robust construction and reliable performance. Users appreciate the large water capacity, making it suitable for households of up to three people. The boilers feature dry heating elements, which enhance electrical safety and simplify maintenance, as they can be replaced without disassembling the entire unit. The tanks are designed to withstand high water pressure up to 9 atmospheres, offering a significant safety margin. A notable advantage is the 10-year warranty on the tank, providing peace of mind regarding durability. However, some users have experienced issues with the accuracy of the built-in thermometer and the absence of a cable in some models. Additionally, while the heating speed is generally satisfactory, there are concerns about the cost of spare parts and occasional quick breakdowns. Despite these drawbacks, the Gorenje GBFU SIM is considered a solid choice for those seeking a reliable and efficient water heating solution.

good model, I liked it
31 May 2025
We bought the boiler about two years ago. It works in tandem with a gas boiler: the gas boiler heats the water, and the boiler acts as a reservoir and only heats the water in the early morning at the night tariff (connected to the network via a timer socket). So the water is always hot without temperature fluctuations. The boiler is quiet, doesn't make any noise at all. Honestly, the appearance doesn't matter much to me, as it's in my utility room, so the main thing is that it works without any issues. In two years, it hasn't let us down, no failures or breakdowns.
Dry heating element. 10-year warranty on the tank.

Another worthy home appliance from a proven and reliable brand
1 April 2016
I bought this water heater precisely because it is produced under the Gorenje trademark. At home, their gas stove and refrigerator have been working for a long time. And it should be noted that they work flawlessly. And with this boiler, I did not lose.
A sufficiently large volume of water. After dilution, you get 130-180 liters for showering or washing dishes. Perfect for three people. Well constructed. Heavy and thick metal of the tank. Neat seams and joints. The inner surface of the tank is protected by a layer of good enamel. Designed for an excessive working pressure of 9 atmospheres. Most competitors do not have such a strength reserve, as they are designed for 6. The boiler is equipped with a really large magnesium anode. Should last for a couple of years at least. It operates on "dry" heating elements (TENs). To me, they don't differ particularly in heating capacity and durability from regular, "wet" TENs. But the fact that they are better in terms of electrical safety is true. Simple mechanical control without any electronics, which burn out at the first voltage spike in our unpredictable power grids. Strict appearance, without flashy labels.
It heats up to the maximum temperature for three whole hours, and in ECO mode (up to 55 degrees) for about two hours. IMHO, it would be possible to put more powerful heating elements. There is no thermometer showing the temperature of the water in the tank. I am aware that these thermometers lie shamelessly, but from it you can at least approximately understand what is happening with the temperature. And so it is necessary to open the tap and stupidly try the water with your hand.

Solid accumulative electric boiler of European production
29 March 2016
I chose a storage water heater for my parents. They do not need a large volume, so I settled on a boiler with a capacity of 50 liters. It was more difficult with the brand of the water heater, the choice is huge and it is not so easy to understand what this or that manufacturer is.
Water heats up quickly. Two-kilowatt tubular electric heaters bring the temperature to a maximum of 75 degrees in just two hours. Dry heating elements. Such heating elements, unlike conventional "wet" ones, are not immersed directly in water, but heat the contents of the tank through the wall. It turns out that when the heating element fails, there is no need to disassemble the entire water heater, but simply remove the cover, take out the burned-out heating element and put a new one in its place. There are two heating elements, each with a power of one kilowatt. Since they are connected in parallel, the water heater will work even if one of them burns out. But the heating time of the water will double. The tank is designed for water pressure up to 9 atmospheres. The normal pressure in the water supply network should be about 5 atmospheres, so there is almost a double supply just in case. Convenient temperature controller. A ten-year warranty on the tank allows you to hope that the boiler will work for a long time and without leaks.
The built-in thermometer does not always correctly show the temperature of the water in the tank. It happens that at the outlet the water is already cool, and the thermometer shows 55 degrees.

Simple design and far from simple "stuffing"

The features of the Gorenje GBFU 100 SIM V9 boiler are partially disclosed in its name. The letters SIM signify belonging to the Simplicisity series, a line of household appliances (it also includes some Gorenje refrigerators, ovens and microwaves), which is distinguished by its clean shapes and minimalist appearance. The design of the water heater is so concise that there is not even a temperature indicator on the body. And the letter U in the model name means "universality" - the ability to install the boiler in a vertical position (with water supply and discharge from below) or horizontal (pipes on the left). With any installation method, the device hangs on 4 mounts (usually boilers are hung on two points) and is securely held on the wall without staggering. Since the heater is supplied without a cable, before installing it, you should buy a wire with a cross section of at least 1.5 mm2 and a plug.

Device and features

But the most interesting feature of this water heater is, nevertheless, not in the design or construction of the fixtures. Inside its 96-liter tank is a system of two heating elements with a total power of 2000 watts. Both heating elements are "dry". They are more reliable than "wet" ones, and less "overgrown" with deposits in the form of lime and scale. It is also interesting to note that a working boiler with a “dry” heating element, when turned on, does not make any clicking or “gurgling” sounds and does not hiss during water heating. The process of heating a full tank of tap water from 10 °C to 65 °C takes 3 hours and 16 minutes. The user can set the desired temperature from 10°C (frost protection mode) to 75°C. For adjustment, a mechanical regulator in the form of a wheel is used. In addition to the upper and lower limits, it indicates the ECO mode - a setting corresponding to a temperature of 55 ° C. The manufacturer claims that in the “economical” mode, the water heater consumes the least amount of electricity (in terms of the annual cycle), and 5 to 8 times less scale is formed in the tank.

Record-breaking tank warranty

Durable "dry" heating elements, simple mechanical control (which tolerates power surges better than electronics), an oversized magnesium anode and a 10-year warranty on the tank are good arguments in favor of the Gorenje GBFU 100 SIM V9 for those who want to buy a reliable boiler for a family of 3 - 4 people.
