The Songwriter Deluxe is classified as a square shoulder dreadnought. This body design improved the reliability and rigidity of the Gibson templates used since the 1930s.
Housing and materials
The back and sides of the instrument are made of rosewood, while the pickguard-protected top is made of spruce. This combination of rocks, together with a mahogany neck, made it possible to achieve a dense, stable sound in all frequency ranges. Ringing tops and deep bottoms give a great sound resonance of good volume, and a dense wide middle creates volume and juiciness.
The rosewood fingerboard features an unusual profile with rounded edges. This unusual chamfer treatment creates an incredible playing comfort and a feeling of lightness in the left hand, which makes the instrument especially good for solo parts.
Electronics
The electronics are represented by the Fishman system with a 4-band equalizer, a built-in tuner and a suppressor (feedback filter), which together significantly improved the connection between the resonator and the pickup and provided a full-fledged, distortion-free sound in “electricity”.
To top it off, it is worth noting the coating of the guitar with nitrocellulose lacquer, which, due to a thin layer, unlike polyurethane, depresses the sound qualities of wood less, and a branded soft case in the kit.
The Songwriter Deluxe Studio EC is an exceptional instrument in every way, but very expensive.
