The device "sees" metal objects at a depth of up to 150 cm (small objects the size of a coin - up to 40 cm). The letters GTI in the name of the Garrett GTI 2500 metal detector mean Graphic Target Imaging - a system for graphical display of the size of the target and its depth below the surface on a large LCD screen with special markings. The system has several degrees of gradation: from A (objects smaller than a coin) to E (larger than a beer can). The discriminator has 24 segments, and in the "brains" of the device there is room for 5 programs (4 factory and 1 user). The metal detector is quite large and heavy (1.81 kg). 8 AA cells are used for power supply.
