The French company Focal-JMLab produces acoustic systems using the most modern technologies aimed at improving the sound quality and appearance of products. The Dome Pack 5.1 costs about $1700, let's see what you are offered to pay for.
Unique Design
The developers made the acoustics not only recognizable from hundreds of others, but also loud-sounding for its modest size (the height of the satellites is only 17 cm, and the subwoofer is 40 cm). To do this, the speakers were enclosed in hemispherical aluminium cases. The satellites are mounted on a stand with a wide sole, but can tilt, giving sound in the right direction.
The aluminium housing, hermetic construction and piano lacquer coating allow the speakers to be used in rooms with high humidity.
The system is available in white, black or red and has a steel frame. The grills have a small spherical recess, giving the speakers even more extravagance. But you have to be careful — the bayonet-type latches on which the grill is attached can easily break.
Adult sound in a small package
The satellites are equipped with a 1" tweeter and a 4" midrange driver, providing accurate and balanced sound in the range of 80 – 28000 Hz. A bass- reflex subwoofer with an adjustable crossover, level, phase control and LFE input is responsible for the transmission of low frequencies from the 42 Hz border. The total power of the system is more than enough to sound a room up to 25 m².
